I loved the frescos on the homes and. businesses!

Frescos on a Bavarian Home

The onion-dome silhouette was everywhere in Bavaria.

The Zugspitze–highest point in Germany

Waiting for the gondola to the top of the Zugspitze

Foggy on the way up

. . . and foggy at the top. The cross marks the highest point in Germany.
We stopped at the open-air restaurant at the top for a snack of German pretzels. They were soft and as big as a dinner plate.

A view from the open-air restaurant at the top of the Zugspitze.

A race was in progress up the mountain. Far down below us, we could see an ant-like trail of people climbing up the mountain. I used the camera to zoom in as they climbed up the rock face. I don’t know about you, but that’s one ladder, I wouldn’t want to climb! :)

Climbers, almost to the top.

My favorite sign! No translation needed.

The viewing platform on the Zugspitze.
Read the book inspired by my visit to Bavaria and Zugspitze, Suspicious, Book Four of the On the Run series of international mysteries.
