My research tour of stately homes for the Murder on Location cozy mystery series continued with a visit to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire, another filming location for another version of Pride and Prejudice, the 2005 feature film version with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.

Chatsworth House

I loved the mellow golden stone that seemed to glow on the slightly overcast day I was there.

The gardens are extensive and dotted to statuary

This is just one of the many unique water features in the gardens.

Entry Hall

The Dining Room felt very Downton-Abbey-ish!

The library, where I could spend hours and hours . . .

One of the bedrooms with specially designed wallpaper

Portraits on display in one of the stairwells

I want these chairs!

Every hallway was lined with art and antiquities

Both the exterior and interior of Chatsworth House inspired me as I wrote the Murder on Location series, particularly the third book in the series, Death in a Stately Home, which features a locked room mystery set in a country home to die for . . .
