I’ve always loved reading about England. Jane Austen and modern day Regency romances gave me a desire to see the country first-hand. I was able to visit London and Cambridge in the past, but I’d never been farther north. Recently, I set off on a research trip that began in Manchester. From there, I traveled through the English countryside (which later became the title of the first book in my cozy mystery series, Death in the English Countryside) to visit Derbyshire with stops at Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and Lyme Park. It was a wonderful trip and inspired me to set my series, Murder on Location, in a fictionalized Derbyshire village.
